Pick a week or two: June 17 to July 11

half-day/ full-day camps Rising Grades 2-6

NEW: Half & full-day Camps for Rising grades K-1!

NEW: before and aftercare

Our science, robotics and engineering summer camp is so fun, kids have no idea how much they're learning! This year we're offering some AWESOME new classes as well as some of our time-tested favorites.

Our younger campers will have an opportunity to test their skills as Lego Engineers and explore a whole world of experiments that go FIZZ, BANG, POP!

For our older campers (Grades 2-6), we have multiple levels of Lego Robotics (from the introductory level to Mindstorms), Video Game Programming and ... NEW: 3-D Printing. We'll also hit the great outdoors with Rockets and Race Cars and spend some time in our Invention Lab using physics, engineering and electronics to create objects that glow, float and fly.

Campers can sign up for two weeks of camp without repeating projects. Just be sure to pick an A Week and a B Week. The classes are the same, but the projects are different!

Class Descriptions Rising Grades K-1

Early Engineers (A Weeks), Let's Roll, Engineers! (B Weeks): Using a LEGO Education kit designed for ages 5+, our Early Engineers will learn about simple machines by building seesaws, spinning tops and more!  In Let's Roll, Engineers! we'll start each class with a brief story-based challenge and design our own vehicular solutions!

Lego Engineers:  Already taken Early Engineers?  This class is for you: Using Lego Education's brand new Simple Machines set, we'll learn the mechanical engineering concepts behind levers, gears, pulleys and more. Get ready for a wild amusement park ride, a go-cart and of course ... a catapult!

Fizz, Bang, Pop!: Where science and fun collide.  Discover how exciting science can be while learning about chemistry, physics and engineering.  The class will build water powered rockets, bubble bombs, super squirters and more, all in a safe and educational environment.

Storybook Lego: Think outside the box and return to the days before Legos came in kits.  We’ll provide the Legos and the inspiration, your children will provide the imagination!  In each class the instructor will read a story and then demonstrate how to build some of the stories characters out of Legos.

Invention Lab: Students will use electronics and physics to create objects that glow, float and fly!

Class Descriptions Rising Grades 2-6

Robotics: Children will build and program robots using LEGO® Education’s award-winning WeDo robotics and programming software. Depending on their prior experience, students will either follow step-by-step on-screen instructions to build their robots, and then build a suggested program to get their robots working, while those who are ready to build more on their own will be given a programming and building challenge, (including an all new,  remote control robot!) set by our instructors.  For our older, more advanced campers we have Lego Mindstorms. (grades 2-6)

Rockets & Race Cars: an all new summer camp program that incorporates science, technology, engineering, art and just enough math to see us through. We'll be launching rockets, building high-powered cars and more. (rising grades 2-6)

Invention Lab: Students will use electronics and physics to create objects that glow, float, zoom and fly! (rising grades 2-6)

Introduction to Video Game Programming:  We've found a great way to get kids started on video game design:Scratch, the super-simple drag-and-drop multimedia programming language designed by MIT's Lifelong Kindergarten Project.  Students will learn how to design and animate their own characters. (rising grades 2-3)

3D Printing:  Campers will sketch their ideas and then use our computers and software to render them into their very own 3D, printable designs. Each child will take home a USB drive with their own printable designs and a 3D printed figure. The ability to make ideas come into real-life objects is sure to thrill every camper, but beware: they may come home asking for a 3D printer of their own! (rising grades 4-6)
